Gulistan means Rose Garden in Parsi, and for some reason Persian musicians love referencing it in their music, I have yet to figure that out. Anyway this is a really awesome percussion driven album by an artist who was very young at the time of recording. It doesnt follow the traditional Persian compositional pattern of 'pishdaramad' (prelude) 'daramad' (introduction), 'tasnif' (song), 'Chahar Mezrab' (rhythmic interlude), 'reng' (dance), and any number of 'gusheh' (melodic movements) but instead is pretty much entirely chaharmezrab and reng. Its mostly instrumental, so if the vocals were your draw to the other Persian shit, sorry about that lol, but this is definitely worth checking out.
